About

An estimated more than 26 million children aged 5-16 are out-of-school, representing 44 per cent of the total population in this age group.

Pakistan Children Relief (PCR) commenced its journey in 2012 as a US-based non-profit organization with a core focus on providing education to orphans and street children in Pakistan. Recognized as a 501(c)(3) entity by the IRS, PCR initiated its operations through partnerships with local organizations. Over an eight-year period, PCR diligently pursued its mission, laying the groundwork for sustainable change in the education landscape of the nation.

In 2020, PCR underwent a significant transition, emerging as an independent organization operating within Pakistan’s borders. This pivotal moment saw PCR establish its headquarters in Islamabad, the capital city, while also setting up local offices in key urban centers such as Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Laki Marwat. This move marked a strategic shift, enabling PCR to exert a more direct and impactful presence in the communities it sought to serve.

With a dedicated team of social workers and an unwavering commitment to its mission, PCR embarked on a trajectory of expansion and growth. Leveraging its newfound independence, PCR rapidly scaled its operations, extending its reach to Multiple cities across Pakistan by 2024, including Loralai, Lakki Marwat, Peshawar, Upper Chitral, Shangla, Chilas, Fazilpur, Bahawalnagar, Lahore, Rahimyar Khan, Ghotkti, Mirpur Khas, Karachi, Islamabad, Sukkur, and Thatta. This widespread footprint empowered PCR to reach marginalized communities and effectively deliver education while combating the pervasive issue of illiteracy.

Throughout its evolution, PCR has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift underprivileged children and eradicate illiteracy from Pakistan. By fostering partnerships, fostering community engagement, and embracing innovative approaches, PCR has made significant strides towards achieving its objectives. The organization’s efforts have not only empowered children with education but have also contributed to the broader socio-economic development of the regions it serves.
